In this one hour session at Equalize Fitness, a Sonostics certified screener will assess the muscle balance around your knee, paying close attention to imbalances which are known to be associated with knee pain and long term knee damage. After performing a detailed analysis, the screener will work with you on a series of exercises designed to fix any imbalances detected. A full report, including the analysis and recommended exercises will be given to you when you leave.

Muscle Balance is Essential to Knee Health

- Do your knees ache when climbing stairs?
- Do you get twinges in your knees when walking, jogging, or playing your favorite sport?
All movement relies on multiple muscles to control joint motion. Imbalance among these muscles commonly leads to joint pain, and chronic imbalance can lead to joint injury. The condition can affect people of all ages.
Knee pain no longer needs to be a mystery.
Knee Muscle Assessment

A certified Sonostics knee care specialist will evaluate your quadriceps, hamstring and Sartorius muscles to identify any muscle weakness or overtraining.
The test is simple – Can you step onto an 8” to 10” platform? If yes, then we can get all the data we need. An assessment (exercise + discussion of results) typically takes about an hour.
MyoWave is a remarkable dynamic assessment tool – you will know immediately if your knee muscles are out of balance.
You will be provided with printed results, an explanation, and recommended next steps.
Follow-up knee muscle assessments are available at a substantial discount, so that you can track your progress.
Exercise Intervention
Individuals with knee pain often believe that discomfort is just a natural part of aging.
But recent research has shown that simple exercises, which you may do at home, can reduce or eliminate knee pain.
Or, take the MyoWave results to your personal trainer or physical therapist who can personally guide you through your exercise regimen.
One man’s experience:
How MyoWave Works

MyoWave translates muscle vibrations recorded at the skin surface into a measure of muscle effort. MyoWave can measure multiple muscles simultaneously, enabling an assessment of muscle balance.
MyoWave identifies knee muscle imbalances so you can target your exercise regimen to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and minimize the risk of injury.
MyoWave is the ONLY non-invasive technology able to measure muscle effort and detect muscle imbalance.
The Sonostics screening service will provide you with a rapid assessment of muscle function without the need for CAT scans or MRIs.
